| Bio: | As the second son of Imrahil, Erchirion grew up resenting the hell out of his position, though he never exactly put that into words. However his general attitude seemed to betray this anyway. He was the perpetually irritated middle son for the most part. He does have fond memories of his grandfather Adrahil whom people say he developed his sharp tongue from. He didn’t have many friends as a child, but then again, he didn’t really need them, preferring to spend the time he wasn’t studying or running about on the back of a horse, with his grandfather, from whom he learned a lot of things. Unfortunately, diplomacy was never one of those! Another bright spot in Erchirion’s early life was receiving his horse, Túrin from Adrahil when he was eleven and the horse was a foal he had watched being born. That said, Erchirion was still rather contentious, rude and generally not that nice a child or a young adult and it was probably a relief for all involved when he left home at fifteen to enter Knight training . Choosing to stay in their barracks to get away from his family, though he made sure to visit his grandfather for ‘tea’ (which let’s be honest, consisted more of tea laced with brandy) whenever he had the chance. He grew to love the life if not the people and became a highly skilled rider and swordsman, and lost at least some of his earlier attitudes. After his grandfather’s death when he was twenty, (which affected him strangely a lot more than his mother’s death had) Erchirion sort of withdrew from the rest of his family at large. There was apparently some big confrontation with Imrahil around this time, the details of which he does not speak of, that made things fairly strained between them, and they stayed this way until the war. During this time, Erchirion also developed a fierce rivalry, some say it’s based on jealousy, others on prejudice, with Essam, and he tends to go out of his way to make the knight commander’s life Hell as often as he can, though that’s lessened up during the battles they’ve been in together. During the war, Erchirion, who had by this point, been made a captain with a unit of his own, and fought in all of the major battles with the knights and at his father’s side. While he did not lose any particular friends, because he doesn’t HAVE those, seeing the destruction and fighting in it, took a big toll on Erchirion’s mental health. Always a heavy drinker, he now tends to abuse it, as a way both of forgetting the demons which plague him, and to quell his own self doubts about his position, the role of the knights and Dol Amroth’s place in the new and wider social order at large. Since coming to Minas Tirith as a member of Imrahil’s entourage, Erchirion has spent more time with his younger brother Amrothos and has discovered to his surprise that he rather likes him, even if he is a bit too naïve for Erchirion’s own tastes. He’s also noticed his father’s declining health and though he’d never actually say this out loud, it really worries him. Because of the awkwardness he feels with Imrahil over the past, he feels that they probably won’t get close again before Imrahil dies and he quietly regrets it, though he’s made no attempts at settling things either. Always one to burn a bridge when the option of solving things like a reasonable person and doing so exists, Erchirion has decided that his sister Lothiriel’s recent disclosure of her marriage makes her a traitor to the family and forcefully maintains that he now has no sister, though he hopes the newQueen of Rohan is very happy. As you can see, he’s something of a hypocrite that way. Overall angry and on the verge of an explosion and/or meltdown, Erchirion presents a strong force to be reckoned with, both in and out of his various moods.
